CGHV at the 45th SADC Summit: the Volobe project highlighted

The Compagnie Générale d’Hydroélectricité de Volobe (CGHV) took part in the 45th Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), a major event for the energy and economic future of the region.

Among the strategic projects presented, the Volobe project has established itself as a concrete example of the energy transition underway in Madagascar. Represented by Mr. Rémy Huber, Director General of the CGHV and President of the Renewable Energy Producers Group (MAREA), this priority project of the Malagasy State was at the heart of the exchanges.

With an average production capacity of 750 GWh per year, Volobe embodies a sustainable and structuring response to energy challenges. Its impact is considerable: it will allow access to green and reliable electricity for more than two million additional people.

As part of the regional dynamic, Volobe perfectly illustrates the importance of major energy infrastructure projects to support inclusive growth, strengthen regional integration and accelerate the energy transition in southern Africa.
